The Thomas Henry Museum

Located in the heart of Cherbourg, the Thomas Henry Museum is Normandy’s third Museum of fine arts and gathers a unique collection of works by Jean-François Millet as well as an incredible collection of 300 paintings and sculptures from the 15th to the 19th century: from Fra Angelico to Camille Claudel, Chardin and David. Discover the new tour through colourful rooms, which has been open since  March 2016.

Originally from Cherbourg, Thomas Henry (1766-1836) wished to honor his city by donating fines paintings which he accumulated throughout his many travels in Europe. He was an art connoisseur himself, and was appointed curator of the Royal Museums during the Bourbon Restoration.
